Dear Partners of the World Urban Campaign,
As I informed you last September during the Steering Committee meeting in Amsterdam, I started a process of change in UN-HABITAT starting last February 2011 to improve our accountability, transparency, efficiency and productivity. As part of this restructuring exercise, I would like to inform you that the World Urban Campaign Secretariat has been assigned to the new area on Advocacy, Outreach and Communications (AOC), under the leadership of Ana Moreno, in the Office of the Executive Director (OED).
The World Urban Campaign (WUC) will be a project inside the AOC and Christine Auclair has been designated as the Project Leader of the WUC.
I would like to reiterate my strong commitment to the World Urban Campaign Partners and our dedication to make it an inclusive global platform and a positive movement to carry the message of Better Cities, Better Life.
Allow me also to express special thanks to our colleagues Axumite Gebre-Egziabjer and Mohamed Halfani for their committed work to the Campaign during the past years.
